WHY ARE INNOVATION ENTERPRISE INSTITUTIONS (IEIs) ESTABLISHED?
To fulfill the following objectives:
Increase access to education at post-basic and post-secondary
levels thus addressing the ‘JAMB bottleneck’ by increasing options
and absorbing more youth into Higher Education, who may have
otherwise been unable to secure admission.
Be principally private sector driven.
Provide the necessary link between education, science, technology,
innovation and the labour market.
Use modern technology to deliver up-to-date curricula and skills
relevant to the needs of employers in the labour market.
To correct the mismatch between the training provided by existing
institutions and the needs of employers.
Economically empower the students through acquisition of employable
and entrepreneurial skills.
